Sunrise in Castine

Here's the view of our backyard taken at 6am when Attila decided it was time for breakfast. As the day progressed those few clouds passed and now we have a bright blue sky. Looking through the trees you can see the reflection off the Bagaduce River. (click image to enlarge)

More pictures of the kitties

It seems the blog is being dominated by so many pictures of the kitties, but it's hard not too when they're just so darn cute. Here are a couple from last night.

Exhausted Rayn

Rayn was pretty tuckered out by about mid-day today after spending the entire morning chasing a twist-tie around the kitchen.

Afternoon homework

Yesterday was a sunny day so I did some of my studying on the back porch. It connects to my bedroom and looks out towards the river. Life's tough. The kitties certainly enjoyed the warmth of the sun as they streched out for a bit when not chasing ladybugs.

Me and Khloe

This picture was taken a few weeks ago when Khloe and I were watching the Super Bowl.

Ice fishing extravaganza!

This weekend, Justin, Chris, and I went up to our teacher's house in Orland to do some ice fishing. We only caught a lake trout, but we still had a really good time.

Keeping warm

On some of those sub-zero nights, the kitties need a little extra heat.

Baby time!

Here's Papa Bear with little Baby Bear. Khloe will be twelve weeks old next week!

Around the house

It isn't all sunshine and kitties around the house. Sometimes we make food for ourselves!

Fossil collecting in January

While home in January, the temperature reached the mid sixties so I took advantage of the warm weather and went fossil hunting with Dave and Peter on Saturday and then again with Charles on Sunday.

Dave working away at the limestone.

Charles chiseling down the rock.

The big find of the weekend. A Eurypterid!!! This species is called Eurypterus remipes.

Bluebirds in December?!

Believe it. We actually had several bluebirds at the feeders on December 27th, while I was home in NY.

Our babies growing up

Attila and Rayn are growing up quickly. Here they are taking a siesta while vacationing in New York.

Christmas in Clinton

Here's our Christmas tree for Christmas 2006!

Barred Owl

Chris noticed this barred owl about 4pm one December afternoon. I was afraid I scarred it when I went to take its picture, but instead it flew closer so that I could get this shot.

First snow of winter

Here's a tree behind our house in Castine after our first significant snowfall
