We have two woodcocks!!!

The past several days we have seen a few woodcocks around the yard. I've never seen one before, but with the help of my dad and Dr. Fegley I have been able to identify then. They're currently in their spring mode so we see them in the yard just bobbing up and down. I was lucky enough to finally get a few pics this morning!

So I either missed Summer and Fall or we've just skipped over those seasons and jumped right back into winter. As of 9:30 this morning the snowdrops I took pictures of yesterday are under a foot of snow. I don't know when this is to be letting up. I have currently composed a letter to show why displeasure with the situation:

Dear Spring,

I hate you. You made me cry. Furthermore, it's a good thing I haven't taken my snowtires off the car yet.

Here is the newest addition to my aquarium. It's a puffer! I didn't realize there were freshwater species but they do exist. The pictures don't do justice to how cute he really is. He's about 1 1/2 inches and floats around the tank like a bumblebee. The other two fish sharing the aquarium are some African cichlids. I adopted all three from my ichthyology lab after they were used for a behavioral study.
