My Office!

Now that I'm a cool grad student, I get an office!  My desk is tucked away in the back right corner.  I use it to read journals and the NY Times, look at trilobites, and hold office hours with my students.  Oh yeah, I also eat my turkey sandwich and cheese there too.

More cat pics

Here are a few pics of the kids.  First Tom beating up on Attila followed by Attila sporting his signature bed-head.

Rayn's new favorite spot

With warm weather here and the back porch open, the kitties have been spending a lot of time out there laying in the sun. Here's Rayn checked out under the table, dreaming her little mouse-filled dreams.

Milk snake

Here's a pretty milk snake someone in the area found and gave to my dad. Dad was happy to accept it.

Another bird post

Yesterday I looked out to the front yard and saw a male and female cowbird. They were probably out looking for some food before heading off to parasitize some other bird's nest.

Northern Flicker in the front yard

Here's a pic of a Northern Flicker I took the other day. I'd never seen one until just last week.

We have two woodcocks!!!

The past several days we have seen a few woodcocks around the yard. I've never seen one before, but with the help of my dad and Dr. Fegley I have been able to identify then. They're currently in their spring mode so we see them in the yard just bobbing up and down. I was lucky enough to finally get a few pics this morning!

05 April 2007

So I either missed Summer and Fall or we've just skipped over those seasons and jumped right back into winter. As of 9:30 this morning the snowdrops I took pictures of yesterday are under a foot of snow. I don't know when this is to be letting up. I have currently composed a letter to show why displeasure with the situation:

Dear Spring,

I hate you. You made me cry. Furthermore, it's a good thing I haven't taken my snowtires off the car yet.

Respectfully,
Wes
